| Chile Update:
i still dont know how to use this spanish keyboard, but i{m getting better. i have stopped using contractions though, since i cannot get the apostrophe to work.
We are up in the northern part of the coutnry now, being tourists. The week at the Chilean Military Academy was pretty cool. I can speak Spanish much better now and it was a lot of good military contact with those cadets.
today we left the hotel at 5am and went to see these crazy geysers, like bubbling at boiling temperature while surrounded by a freezing desert morning. It was really something. There were some pools too because one of the geysers led into a hole that allowed it to cool off to about 90 degrees and act as a hot tub, with some manmade help. It was about 95% untouched though, which really makes you appreciate nature.
ok, that was my feeble attempt at making this trip sound deep. It has been a good trip though. Lots of cultural experiences and language immersion, because you really cannot survive well at all without knowing a little bit of Spanish.
anyway, i have rambled on enough. hopefully you have enjoyed getting an e-mail from South America.
Take care all...

| Wow, long time since the last post. That's probably because I've been mad busy "developing" the new cadets of the Class of 2009. They've been here for three weeks now almost. I'm leaving Sunday and my friend Kevin will be taking over my squad for the final three weeks of Beast. It's cool that it worked out that way. It's been great leading these kids though. I've really seen a lot of them grow immensely. Some still suck, and will hopefully get better or leave, but most have gotten a lot better. It was cool having 10 people stare at you because you're the one in charge. It was very odd and overwhelming at first, but I got the hang of it after a while.
Now that this is over, I'm going to Chile on Tuesday with a group from West Point. It's like a Spanish-language cultural immersion thing. It should be absolutely great. I can't wait.
Anyway, it's time to pack up the stuff in my room and get my kids ready for inspection.
Take care all...
